Annie Nocenti is a writer, filmmaker, and story editor. Most recently, she was story editor for AmplifyHer, a multi-media music DJ platform. Her art, culture, and film journalism has appeared in magazines such as PRINT , Stop Smiling , Scenario , and Details . She wrote the feature film Taking Chances (2009), and her most recent documentary is Disarming Falcons (2013). She taught filmmaking to at-risk teenagers in Kingston, New York, to Native Americans in Tulsa, for the Indigenous Film Circle in Norway, and at the Cine Institute in Jacmel, Haiti. She won a Humanitarian Award for this work at the Tulsa International Film Festival. Nocenti is also known for her comic and world-building work for Marvel and DC Comics.
