A new Stockholm graffiti/street artist will make a guest appearance at Magic City each month. During the first weekend and over the November school holidays Dart, Julia Rio, Ribe, Shora and Core will be in place.
Magic Lab is a room for creativity. Watch the pieces being made and make your own with the help of Stockholm graffiti and street artists. A new piece will be created on the big wall in the workshop each month.

Christmas Workshop Graffiti Style, December 2, 12.00–16.00
Create your magic gift | Still searching for an individual gift for your beloved ones? Dart, two experienced graffiti artists, help you to create a canvas in graffiti style. You will learn how to make letters come to life and dance. The result will be a perfect Christmas gift you can take home.
Live painting with Core and Pike, December 2, 16.00–22.00
On December 2, you can witness a painting by Core and Pike evolve on the artist in residence wall in the Magic Lab. Martin Core and Jonas Pike began as graffiti writers in Malmö in the 1980s. They now reside in Stockholm. In different ways they have reinterpreted graffiti, integrating patterns and abstract, letter-based geometric shapes. Core is also a web and font designer. Pike produces drawings, paintings, and installations inspired by things like mathematics and old school graffiti. You will find the Magic Lab next to the Magic Art café at the end of the exhibition.
Learn 3D graffiti with Core, November 4, 12.00–16.00
Learn how to design 3D letters. Graffiti is not only about writing exciting shapes, but also about depth. We will be experimenting with 3D effects and shadows that make the letters soar.
Learn wild style graffiti with Dart, November 1, 12.00–16.00
Graffiti is a game where you make letters dance. Find your own style with the help of Dart, an experienced graffiti writer. Learn to master the designs using pen and paper. Work with your own name or any other word. The result will be a vibrant image in one or several colours.
Live graffiti with Dart and Ribe, October 28–29
During the opening weekend, 28–29 October, two well-known graffiti writers from Stockholm, Dart and Ribe, will be working together for the first time. Their piece will show the historical and adventurous aspects of graffiti, and its close relationship with the Stockholm metro . They plan to integrate documentary footage and objects that will break the boundaries of graffiti. Dart and Ribe will draw up their preliminary sketch on Saturday, October 28, between 17.00 and 18.00 and continue at 11.00 on Sunday October 29 until they finish at around 15.00.
Stickers workshop with Julia Rio and Shora, October 28 & 29, 12.00–16.00
With an infinite number of motifs and techniques, stickers are a popular street art medium. Learn to make your own stickers using graffiti techniques with layers of opaque paint.
WORKSHOP TEACHERS & ARTISTS
Shora is a muralist from Stockholm. She paints on anything from buses, façades and people to canvases.
Julia Rio is a yarn bomber who works all over the city. Originally from Arvika, she lives and works in Stockholm.
Martin Core began as a graffiti writer in Malmö in the 1980s. He now lives in Stockholm. He is making patterns and abstract, letter-based geometric shapes. He is also a web and font designer.
Dart is a graffiti writer who is based in Stockholm, but who has travelled around the world for over twenty years. He finds inspiration in experiences gained in both cities and landscapes. He now likes to share his knowledge and expertise and to help others find the same joy in doing graffiti as he has done.
Johan Ribe was born and raised in Umeå. He moved to Stockholm in 1993. Johan is a film director, producer and screenwriter. He uses short trial footage to get to the core and energy of graffiti. By combining film footage, physical objects and painting, Ribe takes the viewer back to the 1990s when he was one of the most productive graffiti writers in Sweden.
